Hello everyone,
As we embrace the beautiful spring weather and look forward to the Easter holidays, we have some exciting updates to share with you! 🌷🐣
Joining BlueSky
We’re thrilled to announce that NECANN has joined BlueSky! You can now connect with us on this platform and stay updated with our latest news and events. Find us at BlueSky.
Phasing Out Our Private Facebook Group
In response to feedback, we’re considering phasing out our private Facebook group. Tagging seems to be working better for everyone, and we believe this change will streamline our communication. If you have any thoughts or concerns about this transition, please let us know.
Call for Case Studies and Feedback
For our upcoming newsletters, we would love to hear your feedback and gather case studies or examples of how NECANN has supported or promoted partnerships between organisations. For instance, in WYCANN, the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund accessed a grant through Barnardo’s, enabling a new service to be delivered following a Barnardo’s presentation at a CANN meeting. If you have similar stories, please share them with us! Have social media shares boosted an event? Have you made a connection at a meeting? Your stories can help us attract new members and showcase the impact of our network.
A Fond Farewell to Victoria Byrom
We have some bittersweet news to share. Our chairperson, Victoria Byrom, has had to resign due to conflicts in their new role and time commitments. Victoria was integral in helping to kick off NECANN, and we will miss them dearly. If anyone is interested in stepping into this role, please get in touch. You will be helping to support multiple SEND families and will receive full support throughout.
Hadrian Family Fun Day
The Hadrian Family Fun Day is fast approaching and will be held on 28th June from 11 AM to 1 PM at Hadrian School. This event is a fantastic opportunity for families to find out information about local services, socialise with friends old and new, and raise money for Hadrian School. If you are interested in having a stall, please let us know!
Welcoming New Members
We are thrilled to welcome two new members this month: Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome!
NECANN Teams Meeting Recap
We also had two presentations from Choice Wellbeing Service and The Chronicle Sunshine Fund. There were some great offers of collaborative working with both presentation providers from other charities, which is great to see.
Upcoming Events
Unite has a Fundraising Event called Neurofest at the Life Centre on 15th August. Details are on EVENTBRITE or you can contact Katie Toner at hello.uniteclub@gmail.com if you are interested in more details or attending.
Future Meetings and Opportunities
We are inviting people to let us know if they wished to present about their offering/service at upcoming meetings and also if they would prefer virtual, hybrid, or in-person events.
Thank You, Vicki Byrom
Finally, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Vicki Byrom for all her hard work and input over the past year. It’s been incredible what she and Kerry have achieved with an influx of new members, and we really appreciate all she has done and will miss her.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the next meeting!
